Live Updates: Rangers vs Capitals Game 1 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Rangers Rout Capitals 5-1 in Game 1

K'Andre Miller's Three Point Performance Leads the Charge

The New York Rangers have kicked off their quest for the Stanley Cup with a resounding 5-1 victory over the Washington Capitals in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round. The Rangers dominated the game from start to finish, with K'Andre Miller leading the way with a three-point performance.

Miller opened the scoring in the first period with a beautiful wrist shot from the top of the circle. He then assisted on goals by Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome in the second period to give the Rangers a commanding 3-0 lead.

The Capitals finally got on the board in the third period with a goal by Anthony Mantha, but the Rangers quickly responded with goals by Igor Shesterkin and Mika Zibanejad to put the game out of reach.

Shesterkin was brilliant in goal for the Rangers, stopping 40 of 41 shots he faced. The Rangers defense was also solid, limiting the Capitals to just 13 shots on goal in the third period.

The Rangers will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Capitals in Game 2 on Wednesday night.
